This is at the top of my list of recommendations if you're just getting started into detailing. Most people already have a drill, so this is an inexpensive way get a powered polisher. A kit like this one give you multiple pads, and the attachment disk. While it's not included you can even get 3in sanding disks for it. Even with having a 6in DA, I still frequently use this 3in on my Drill.
A normal Razor Blade is a great tool for detailing. . . if used correctly. However it makes a lot of people nervous, and sometimes it's just too risky. In both situations these Plastic Razor blades are perfect. Scraping power of a razor blade while being soft enough to not gouge or scratch most surfaces. I use this one a lot too!
Another invaluable cleaning tool for your Drill. I've got these from Soft to Stiff and they are excellent. Of course none of them are suitable for use on paint, but they're great for cleaning almost anything else. I frequently use them for cleaning Carpets, Floor Mats, and Seats!
Speaking of New Car Scent. . .This is another incredible product. I've found nothing that removes odors better. If you bought a smoker's car TRY THIS!!
WARNING: DO NOT SPRAY IT WHILE YOU'RE IN THE CAR! - It's Strong.
Spray some inside the car, close the door immediately, and then wait a while.
This one is another neat little attachment. If you've already got a Shop-Vac and don't want to shell out for a Carpet Extractor this a great option. My extractor stopped working, so in lieu of a new one I got one of these. I use a hand pump sprayer to put down the water/cleaner and this pulls it back out with all the dirt.
