Who we are:

Our Mission

At V. Hickle Garage, we aim to keep old cars on the road.

Armed with basic tools, questionable wisdom, and an endless supply of optimism, we bring vehicles back to life from a regular two-car garage. No fancy lifts, no professional shop - just real problems, real solutions, and real talk about what it takes to keep these legends on the road. We're here to prove that ‘cars’ isn’t just a hobby and with enough determination (and creative cursing), anyone can turn their driveway dreams into daily drivers... eventually.

Meet the Team!

About Me

Hey, I'm Shayne - car guy since birth, project hoarder since 2002 (much to my parents dismay). Currently living the dream with two kids, one very patient wife, and an ever-rotating collection of vehicles that 'just need a little work.' When I'm not hunting down the next project, you can find me in my two-car garage turning perfectly good tools into projectiles and transforming 'quick fixes' into month-long adventures.

Some people collect stamps. I collect vehicles that make my wife question my judgment. But hey, at least the kids are learning some creative new vocabulary while helping dad in the garage.

Always working on something, always looking for the next deal, and always convincing myself that THIS project will be the easy one. (Narrator: It never is.)"

The Team

Shayne - Chief Everything Officer

  • Lead Mechanic (self-taught, results may vary)
  • Head of Procurement (aka professional parts runner)
  • Chief Financial Officer (don't tell my wife)
  • Quality Control Department (sometimes)
  • Tool Throwing Specialist
  • Professional Optimist ("it can't be that bad")
  • Lead Test Driver
  • Head of Customer Service (talking to myself counts)
  • Janitor (when motivated)

Alex - The Wife

  • My #1 Fan
  • Website Creator
  • Blog Master Supreme
  • Professional Project Enabler
  • Chief 'Awesome, Another Project'!
  • Master of Making My Ideas Sound Reasonable
  • Executive Director of 'It Followed Me Home' Approval
  • Lead 'I Need A Hand Real Quick' Responder
  • Holding down the fort when I lose track of time in the garage

A Special Thanks to:

  • The understanding wife who pretends not to notice new project vehicles ( and is incredibly supportive)
  • Two kids who  (in due time) will be excellent flashlight holders
  • The local parts store staff who know me by name
  •  My neighbors who masterfully ignores both the midnight wrenching and the growing vehicle collection
  • The 10mm socket that went missing in 2019 (RIP)"
